WE CAN’T GET STUCK – WE NEED FRESH OIL!

I KNOW THIS PROBABLY WON’T GET A LOT OF LIKES TODAY, but it is my heart to say it anyway.

Apostolic and prophetic ministries, churches and leaders have the same opportunity to become “religious” as our predecessors. We have the same potential to get “stuck” as previous moves of God.

If we do not stay anointed with fresh oil so we may be fresh and flourishing in the courts of our God (Psalm 92), then we can become just as stuck and stagnant with ritual, preferring to be stuck in a comfort zone like the children of Israel on Mr. Horeb (Deut. 1:6), rather than moving forward to the Promised Land of Inheritance.

This is why the true prophetic and authentic prophets are critical in our movement – to help keep us moving forward “fresh and flourishing” in partnership with apostles who lead with vision. I see some tendencies in our movement to become cloistered or monastic, which can really cause unhealthy spiritual inbreeding after a while. Cross-pollination with other movements is healthy. You can do that without compromising your apostolic DNA.

And reaching out beyond the 4 walls of the church is extremely healthy. If churches do not regularly hear the sound of new babies being born-again into the Kingdom, they need a spiritual check up to get healthy again. Just some musings today. Have a blessed weekend!
