If He anoints the messenger, then is it possible for the messenger to be anointed, and yet still be preaching something that is biblically in error?
That is something pretty serious to think about.
It is critically important for believers to know and study the Word of God for themselves. We have the Word of Truth and the Spirit of Truth to lead and guide us into ALL truth.
We cannot become spiritually lazy and not take time to know the Word for ourselves, because it can be a set up for deception.
While there are times that God will “anoint” a message for a particular season in terms of what He is doing in the church, primarily God anoints the messenger. And it is the messenger’s responsibility to not abuse that anointing and lead people astray from the word of God.
“What is truth?” asked Pilate. Truth is a person. Jesus said “I am the truth.” God gives us the anointing to preach and teach the Word in order to reveal The Truth.
Let every messenger “anointed” by God seek to always reveal The Truth. And let every hearer always seek to confirm it through searching out the Scriptures – even as the Bereans did in the Book of Acts when they heard Paul.
